Witchblade

[ Witchblade ] [ Witchblade ] [ Witchblade ]
The moment this lady came into view, the warcry of all the men became WITCHBLADE!
More
Restraint became a thing of the past.
More
Witchblade, AKA Roxanna Martin, was kept up on stage longer than any other contestant.
More
[ Witchblade ] [ Witchblade ]
Gee, I wonder why :^).
More
Afterwards, we got her back on stage for more pictures.

[ Giant Robo ] [ Giant Robo ] [ Giant Robo ]
This Giant Robo costume was huge and created by Blair Heald out of stuff he found at a 99 cent store. He could barely move in the thing.
More
All the photographers had to turn around to take pictures, since he couldn't navigate the steps to get on the stage.
More
Of course, someone kept saying "Get him on the stage". Some people have no appreciation of what these people are going through.
More
[ Vampire Princess ]
Vampire Princess?

[ Darth Maul ] [ Darth Maul ] [ Darth Maul ]

More
This guy WAS Darth Maul, at least to us.
More

More
[ Darth Maul ] [ Darth Maul ] [ Darth Maul ]
He did several kicks for us, without a complaint.

The look to have nightmares about.

[ Buddy Lee, Klingon Warrior ] [ Buddy Lee, Klingon Warrior ]
Another reason to regret missing the main stage. They had a skit using Buddy Lee, Klingon Warrior.
More
Buddy Lee was a doll used in a series of TV ads for Lee Jeans.

Look out for the meanest Sailor Scout of them all...

[ Superman Robot ] [ Superman Robot ]
Another big robot...
More
I have to feel sorry for these people, what they go through with these things on. But it seems to make them happy.

After the Masquerade

After the Masquerade, the stage was open. If you wanted someone to get back up for more pix, all you had to do was chase them down and talk them into it. Guess who stayed up there the longest?

[ Jedi Vs. Sith ] [ Jedi Vs. Sith ] [ A Foul Turn of Events ]
Darth Maul was brought back to the stage, and a couple of other people were conscripted to do a little bit more of an action scene.
More
The two Jedi's didn't appear in the Masquerade but were in the hallway outside the photo area.
More

More

[ Qui-Gon Vs. Darth Maul ]
Then this great Qui-Gon (A.K.A. Tim Justice) showed up, and it was time for another round of pictures.

[ It's good to be the Emcee ] [ Life is Good ] [ Robert Trebor ]
To paraphrase Mel Brooks, "It's good to be the Emcee"
More
Robert Trebor, who plays Salmoneus in Xena and Hercules was the Emcee for the show. Here, he's looking a bit too smug.
More
Ahh... it's a tough job, but someone's got to do it.
More

[ Boba Fett ] [ Boba Fett ] [ Boba Fett ]
Back to Boba Fett.
More
As you can see between these three shots, his targeting computer changes position, automatically with the position of his gun.
More
A costume to be jealous of.
More

[ Boba Fett and Witchblade ] [ Boba Fett and Witchblade ] [ Boba Fett and Witchblade ]

More
And Witchblade came back for another round of shots.
More

More

[ Robert Trebor and Witchblade ] [ Robert Trebor and Witchblade ] [ Robert Trebor and Witchblade ]
Robert quickly jumps into the picture.
More
"Raise your leg" someone asked. Robert quickly obliges.
More
"Oh, you mean her?"
More

[ Witchblade ]
She won the Most Beautiful trophy. Bit of an understatement.
More

[ Dick Tracy ] [ Dick Tracy ] [ Dick Tracy ]
Another player who wasn't part of the Masquerade.
More
When I finally realized that I had been seeing this guy at the con for several years, I chased him down and asked him to jump up on stage.
More
In 1998, he came as The Shadow.
