I finally got to work and put up the rest of my pictures for 2007. I also found the secret hiding place of my missing 2006 pictures, which was on my friend laptop I had borrowed. At this point, I'm still trying to identify some of the pictures and add links as such (I need to take better notes), but at least now you can see them.

Day 3, 2007

And the all important, Masquerade, 2007, with over 200 pictures.

Con Housing is open , not that it will do you much good at this point. Anything closer than a mile is gone. And even now, four and a half hours later, TPHousing's server is still flaky as hell.
Yeah, that was a lot of fun . Still, I was able to get a room for the Con. It's not the room I wanted, but it is the room that many people would kill for. After about 50 minutes of clicking, I got a room at the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina. Yes, right next to the Con. I "lost" four rooms due to the poor state of the servers, though. Click, wait,
Of course, as if the significant price increase the hotels hit us with wasn't enough, the hotel tax rate went up from 10.5% to 12.5% on January first of this year.
To be honest, this is about the same trouble I had last year, where once I got all the way to the "Clicked to confirm" button, only to have the server crash on me. It really shouldn't be a surprise for Travel Planners to have such a response by now.

The Comic Con started a hotel blog (RSS feed ) today. Unfortunately, it's lacking in useful info. Basically it says to be prepared to book a hotel through other channels. It looks like it's going to be online/phone madness again, and most hotel space will be probably be gone within an hour.
The one main piece of info that should be on the site, is the hotel costs, as well as shuttle info. It's lack, and the lateness of the CCI 2008 Update #1, seems to indicate that it's going to be bad news.
In lieu of accurate pricing, one possibility would be to check last year's update (PDF download from Comic-Con.org). You'll find last years prices near the end, though this years prices will almost certainly be more.
