Finally!! Map of the Con
Finally, I made it to the Con. My car overheated on the way, so we had to limp back home. Luckily, we were only a few miles out. Still, it was a terrible way to start the 2003 Con. How cool!! Right out where it's needed, I came upon one of several maps. I just looked at this and knew I was going to be walking many, many miles this year.
Already Tired??? Under the Sails
It's only 6:46 and already people are so worn out that they have to sit down in the halls? I was pretty impressed by the upgraded signs this year. Nice, large, colorful signs to let you know where you were and were to go. I started getting a good feeling about the Con at this point.
DC Booth
I don't know why, but I take a picture of the DC booth just about every year. There was no sign of a Marvel booth at all this year, not like last year's small excuse for a booth. There was a big Marvel logo at the WizKids booth that some people were mistaking for the Marvel booth, though.
Free Gameplay
That's what it's all about, playing games for free.
Mattel Booth Mattel Booth2 Mattel Booth3
Mattel had a pretty big booth.
Playstation Game Playstation Game1
Now this is a nifty new game. What's happening here is the game has one of those web-cameras aimed at the player, which puts the players picture in the game. The player then has to react as he's attacked by enemies, mostly coming out from the side of the screen. The player has to move his arms in order to hit enemies.
Bionicle Lego Bionicle
A Bionicle. A Bionicle made from Legos.
Inflatable Hulk Costumes
Upper Deck had this big inflatable Hulk. Here are some costume displays from Bandai Entertainment.
Wrestling Ring TokyoPop Booth
Hmmm, I wonder what's going to be happening here... Seconds after I took a picture of the TokyoPop booth, I was chased down one of their people, who appearently wanted to make sure I had all the information I needed about them. Do I really look that much like a journalist?
Pioneer And DVDPlanet
This seemed like a rather odd combo booth to me. It was for Pioneer and DVD Planet.
The Haunted Mansion
To me, "Pirates of the Caribbean" seemed like a bad idea for a movie, but I enjoyed it immensely. Adding Eddie Murphy to "The Haunted Mansion", though... just sounds like it's going to be another "Transylvania 6-5000" or "Haunted Honeymoon".
Sci-Fi Booth Sci-Fi Booth
The Sci-Fi Channel is back, with a new color. I think I'll drop by later and see some episodes of Farscape.. Oh, wait, that's not going to happen, is it. (Can you tell I'm a little bitter? mt_ignore::^))
Kung Fu Poster Kung Fu Poster
I just loved these posters from Kwoon.com. Though I'm not a fan of the genre.
Punisher Frank Castle
Gee, I wonder what movie this could be for... Could it possible be better than the version with Dolph Lundgren?
Bean bags Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!
They suck you in with a nice place to sit, then brainwash you with instructions on how to play their collectible card game. Seems like a good investment to me. Yes, it's been 25 years since "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!" came out. Strangely enough, for someone who loves bad movies, I actually haven't seen any of the Killer Tomato movies, much less realizing there were 4 of them as well as a TV series.
